I had a new roof put on 3 years ago and the nail size (Texas) was 11/2 inch I was told. I have about half an inch sticking out all over my attic. I now have to to have a new roof put on because of hail damage. Should I have the roofer use the same size nails or shorter?Nail Size For 30 Year Timberline (Texas)?
I have been the superintendent on over 100 residential homes in Florida. On everyone of the we used 1 1/4'; roofing nails. Longer is fine but unnecessary.Nail Size For 30 Year Timberline (Texas)?
Silly question really one would not normally repeat an error. You use the size compatible with the total thickness of the roofing materials.
