Wht size nails to use on 1/2 decking?

Do not use Nails I biuld decks and the best thing to use is screws as time goes by wood srinks and the nails will loosen up making your deck planks come loose use screws that will pay off in a long run abd go with a 2'; screw always better to be to long then short stay away from the nails poor ideaWht size nails to use on 1/2 decking?
2 1/2'; deck screws work well. Nails more difficult to remove if need to repair deck at a later date.Wht size nails to use on 1/2 decking?
Nails tend to pull loose, screws hold much better
no nails! use 2'; decking screws .they are treated to prevent rust. also the head takes a square head driver bit. there are different size bits so make sure to get the right size, usually one comas with the screws. use a cordless drill if you have one and keep the other battery on the charger.
Decking as in outside deck or on a dock or roof ?

If it is deck boards for an outsinde deck - there a a couple of screws (1.5';) that have a coating on thme to resist rust and go in well.

If it is a small deck and you can use a cordless driver, screws. However, if it is a larger deck or dock I suggest using stainless steal ringshank nails... they are a tad expensive, but are very good about not popping loose and do not rust.
1/2 '; decking can use 2'; nails. 2'; Screws would be better however.
Go to Home Depot get the Deck Mate brand of screws probally 1 1/2'; or 2';. Best screws i have ever used.......Good Luck
